Ambient Tennis

Dirt’s new limited-edition zine, TENNIS, was created in partnership with FOULPLAY, a sports nutrition company that broke the oldest rule in supplements: that what works can't taste good.

The publication includes photographs from tennis courts around the world submitted by Dewey Sim, Alexa Margorian, Owen Lewis, Kieran McLean, Julie Morrissy, Alison Depsky, James Hansen, Becky Miller, Yelena Zhelezov and more. 

The photos are accompanied by Ambient Courts, an audio work assembled from recordings captured across continents. Each photograph corresponds to a timestamp in the soundscape, linking the images to specific sounds. The recordings focus on what usually goes unnoticed: the bounce of a ball, wind moving through fencing, fragments of conversation between points.
